Represented by its Director General, Imad Al-Zuhairi, PICA held a high-level meeting with the Minister of health, H.E. Dr. Mai Al-Kaila, to discuss ways of strengthening their joint cooperation in the field of health in order to implement medical development programs on international level.
The meeting aimed at enhancing coordination and communication between the two parties in a way that serves the national interest. The Palestinian Ministry of Health is a key partner for PICA, especially in terms of implementing health programs in friendly and targeted countries. Such programs fall within the framework of implementing SDGs, particularly the third goal on achieving good health and well-being.
Al-Zuhairi reviewed PICA programs and achievements in the field of medical development in the African continent, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia and stressed the need to cooperate with the Ministry of Health and to fully benefit from Palestinian medical expertise. Al-Zuhairi also reaffirmed the need for permanent coordination with the Minister of Health regarding the the Palestinian medical missions, which fall within the contribution of the State of Palestine in the implementation of international development goals related to the field of health.
The Minister of Health, H.E. Dr. Mai Al-Kaila, emphasized the importance of joint cooperation, referring to PICA efforts in enhancing public diplomacy with the peoples of the world, through the Palestinian technical missions and medical teams led by the agency. She also stressed on the importance of PICA programs and expressed the full readiness of the Ministry of Health to cooperate in order to enhance the presence of State of Palestine internationally.
The meeting was attended by third secretary, Sherine Al-Far, diplomatic attaché, Khaled Abu Qare, diplomatic attaché, Rand Taweel, diplomatic attaché, Essam Qadri, Deputy Minister of health Dr. Asaad Ramlawi and Dr. Moatasem Moheisen, Director General of the office of the Minister of Health.
