Background: | In march 2019, Palestine has launched its first agricultural program in Nicaragua in different subjects of agricultural needs in Nicaragua where PICA coached and trained more than a 100 staff in the different agricultural ministries and centers, moreover, PICA has established a solid ground of cooperation by satisfying critical and significant Nicaraguan needs through designing more than 10 agricultural development programs only in 2019, resulting in training more than 250 engineers and vets. The mission in November 2019 has focused on advanced trainings for the previous topics of breeds improvement and greenhouses management and PEST control, additionally, added the programs of urban development and food production, application of biosecurity protocols through PCR techniques and the aquaponic and silage production. | |
Purpose: | The program aims to transfer the Palestinian knowledge in the different areas of agriculture through especially customized designed programs that satisfy the Nicaraguan needs, resulting in higher reach to the Nicaraguan people and elevating the Nicaragua agricultural services and products. | |
Outputs: | 1. Training and coaching 160 agricultural engineers, veterinarian, and agricultural entrepreneur. 2. Establishing two projects for breeds’ improvement through artificial insemination techniques for cows and sheep, which will allow us to continue with advanced trainings to expand our network. | |
Activities: | PICA launched five simultaneous programs where the experts coached, trained and taught the theory of the recent knowledge and techniques through lectures and field training, which accumulated to 60 hours. The program includes many phases to expand the network of the receivers from the government and their connected network of farms where PICA will reach out again and provide advance trainings and programs as well as establishing more projects. | |
