Background: | Producing Frozen semen for rams which is a collaborative South-South cooperation initiative aimed at promoting the development and exchange of agricultural and scientific expertise We were planning to do this mission since last year (2023)but because of the political situation in Palestine, we have postpone it to year 2024. | |
Purpose: | Producing Frozen semen for rams to meet self-sufficiency in Tunisia. | |
Activities & Outputs: | Three training days, as preparing the Indonesian diluent for 24 hours protocol and for 48 hours protocol. Outputs: 40-45% success which is more than the global standards, which make it effective to produce these frozen semen which meet and go beyond the needed percentage to be able to work with. | |
Working Framework: | Based on the mission`s great results, the Tunisian experts asked PICA and our expert to continue in phase two, in the artificial insemination for the Frozen semen. This mission push us forward to work on the concept note for 2025, in partnership with Indonesia. | |
Beneficiaries: | 16 participants from INRAT, Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Maritime Fisheries, Sidi Thabet livestock & pasture office, including researchers, academics. |
