The State of Palestine, represented by the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency, is participating in the summit of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), which is currently being held in the Nicaraguan capital of Managua with the participation of member states, observers and a large number of international organizations, bodies and legal persons.
PICA Director General, Imad Al-Zuhairi said that the Association of Caribbean States is an organization concerned with consultation, cooperation and implementation of development programs related to trade, transportation, tourism, climate and natural disasters in the Caribbean countries. The Summit is considered the most important meeting of the Organization, which is attended by high levels of Member States , Observer States, founding observers of organizations, observer organizations, social actors and international legal persons.
Throughout the participation of the State of Palestine, PICA expressed its commitment to the goals, plans and programs of the Association aimed at improving the lives of the peoples of the Caribbean region and renewing their willingness to engage in development programs that serve the achievement of common objectives, including programs that the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency can be part of its implementation through its human resources, especially that the areas of cooperation include programs that fall within the objectives of the Agency and its mandate.
He added that Palestine and PICA have implemented various development and humanitarian programs in a number of member countries of the Association of Caribbean States, particularly in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica and Venezuela, and is currently implementing an important agricultural development program in Nicaragua.
Al-Zuhairi expressed the readiness of PICA and under the directives of the leadership to expand its partnerships with governments, organizations and international and regional specialized bodies to arrive at practical plans leading to the implementation of programs in the Caribbean countries to achieve greater support and solidarity with Palestine in line with the organization’s plans and international development goals 2030 .
