The Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA) held in its headquarters a meeting with the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), represented by Mr. Muhammed Mahli, Programs Coordinator at ICYF on Sunday.
The meeting revolved around discussing ways and means of cooperation between the two parties in the areas of youth development within the framework of South-South Cooperation. Mr. Mahli explained the forum work and its youth programs, as well as new projects and programs dealing with different areas that fall within the interest of youth.
PICA staff, represented by Program Director Shireen Al-Far and Program Officer/Diplomatic Attaché, Lina Nowarah, talked about the agency’s work and achievements over the past years, as well as suggesting areas of cooperation between the agency and the forum in various areas related to youth development within the framework of South-South Cooperation for countries in need. This includes benefiting from youth experience in different countries in the field of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers in African countries. They also discussed the transfer of experiences among Muslim and non-Muslim youth in the fields of volunteering, scouting and other fields that fall within the priorities of both parties. They have agreed on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the coming period in order to implement programs and activities within a legal framework that contributes to achieving common goals.
