2019 – PICA Media Program in Mali

Implementing Organizations: Palestinian International Cooperation Agency – PICASDG: 
Background: Palestine distinguished ties with Mali. PICA endorsed the long positive history with Mali through this program, which was in the field of media and journalism.
Purpose: Building the capacities of 50 Malian journalists and media professionals.
Outputs: 1. 50 Malian journalists who work in local news agencies or media students trained. 2. The second stage of this training, which will be more specialized, requested from the Malian side. 3. A visit to Palestine to benefit from Palestinian expertise suggested. 4. Knowledge sharing with the Malian society. 5. Raising awareness on the Palestinian case. 6. Signing MoU with Mali, focusing on strengthening cooperation between PICA and the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Malian Ministry of Education.
Activities: 1. Training course in media held in two different schools: ESTM and Ecole Superior de Journalism et des Sciences de la communication by two media experts: Khalil Rabaa and Mohammad Muhanna. 2. The training courses covered many aspects such as: using the camera, photographing equipment, writing reportages, editing films, interviews, etc.
