Windhoek – PICA concluded its first development program in Namibia pertaining to water in close cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine to South Africa. PICA conducted a three-day technical visit to transfer Palestinian expertise to help the efforts of the government to face the prevailing water scarcity in the country and the persisting drought.
PICA Director General, Imad Al-Zuhairi, considered this mission as a means to strengthen relations between the two countries, building on expanding development in cooperation with regional and international partners.
PICA technical delegation examined several water dams to provide recommendations and technical report, which will be submitted to the government next month. Moreover, the Palestinian experts are planning to develop a capacity-building program in the field of water management and soil development to enhance the performance of Namibian competent authorities.
