PICA Participates in the Fifth International Meeting on Triangular Cooperation in Portugal

PICA took part in the Fifth International Meeting on Triangular Cooperation, held in Lisbon on 17-18 Oct 2019.

The international meeting, organized by OECD and supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Ibero-American Programme for the Strengthening of South-South Co-operation (PIFCSS), brought together a wide range of practitioners and officials from different actors involved in triangular cooperation to discuss follow-ups of the Second High-level UN Conference on South-South Cooperation (BAPA +40), held in Buenos Aires on 20-22 March 2019.

PICA Director General, Imad Al-Zuhairi, stated that PICA participation in this meeting reiterates its commitment to promote triangular cooperation as one practical modality to achieve the 2030 Agenda. It is also considered as a follow up of the State of Palestine’s participation in BAPA+40 and the 4th high level meeting on country-led knowledge sharing held in Indonesia, Al-Zuhairi added.

Within the framework of this meeting, PICA aims at sharing experiences and bringing more partners on board for effective triangular cooperation in programs being conducted and envisaged for 2020 and 2021 in full coordination with local and international partners.

PICA ‘s participation in the conference came as a result to the cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and in full coordination with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Portugal.
