PICA Launches the Third Phase of Agricultural Development Programs in Nicaragua

PICA launched the third phase of agricultural programs in Nicaragua, aiming at developing and building the Nicaraguan agricultural capacities, targeting more than 120 veterinarians and agricultural engineers in 4 different ministries in addition to a considerable number of farmers.

PICA Director General, Imad Al-Zuhairi, stated that the 3rd phase, which will last for 10 days, is implemented in close cooperation with distinguished experts from the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture.

The envisaged outcomes of this development program are mainly centered around genetical improving ruminant strains using modern artificial insemination techniques in addition to aquaculture and animal food substitutes, greenhouses management, agricultural pest control, rural development, food processing and others, Al-Zuhairi elaborated.

This development program, like many others implemented by PICA, comes within the framework of South-South Cooperation in order to promote 2030 agenda and UN SDGs.
